Italytur
Programs are sightseeing and educational
programs that take place an hour northeast of Rome
(in the northern Lazio region). The programs include:
1 - “Weekends Away”
two days of study and sightseeing around a theme.
2 - Cooking School 2-day and 3-day
courses, held in a villa and a medieval town.
3 - Day Excursions (for schools and
small groups).
Italytur Programs offer also these
services:
- Minivan pickup and escorting
- Tour guiding and sightseeing in
English and with specialized local guides
- A bilingual accompanying person
throughout your entire stay
Both “Weekends
Away” programs and day
excursions
are scheduled around special events, town festivals,
and especially interesting themes. These programs are
many and varied, including:
- art restoration weekends, learning
about how restorers work today;
- nature hikes: walking through
natural reserve parks;
- archeological weekends: exploring
the prehistoric and Roman archeological sites in
central Italy;
- biking and horseback riding with
instructors and guides;
- religious walks and visits, including
following trails where St. Francis had travelled;
- art programs that invite the best
of artisans and experts to speak and demonstrate
in their specific fields.
- Specialty foods and town festivals
where the programs are centered around learning
more about fine foods of central Italy, visiting
the areas of production and town festivals after
harvesting of that product.
Cooking
School has two cooking programs in
two different beautiful locations, a little more than
an hour northeast of Rome.
Students live and work alongsidee Professional teachers
with the highest of standards.
One location is a luxurious villa in a panoramic setting,
with kitchens that are superbly arranged with modern
equipment.
The other is in a medieval town in a private home
that runs a B&B, where there are two large kitchens
with more than sufficient workspace for 8 students
working together.
Cooking School offers 3-day courses
during the week, and for those who can not take time
during the week, there are two-day weekend
Cooking School courses.
The Goals in all Italytur programs
are to give our groups the most information from professionals,
presenting basics in both Italian cooking and central
Italy’s life style.
Cooking School and “Weekends Away” should
be special times for visitors to central Italy, memorable
days where, through the programs offered and by visiting
the surrounding area with professional guides, groups
will become acquainted with Central Italy’s
historic, gastronomic and artistic traditions.
