Italytur Programs are short sightseeing tours that take place an hour northeast of Rome, in the northern Lazio region, and central Italy.  Included in most of these tours are activities, conferences and town festivals.  All Italytur programs include a theme, an activity and sightseeing. Groups thereby learn about Italian life style, traditions, culture and cuisine. Programs are designed for one-day, and multiple-days throughout the year. Even if a program is for ONE DAY, the morning is dedicated to a theme (medieval towns, art restoration, frescoes, Italian cooking, archeology, etc) and the afternoon is dedicated to sightseeing the immediate area, and of course, will include visits to sites that reflect the theme studied for the day.

In the meantime, for those of you in Italy in this period, we reccommend going to visit the Vespasian exhibits:

VESPASIAN  Roman emperor, was born in the north of Rieti, 2000 years ago.  Italy is celebrating this bi-millenium with exhibits both in Rome and in Rieti.  A Rome exhibit has now been concluded, having taken place in the Colosseum, one of Vespasian's major constructions.  Come visit the other sites and museums with Susan, in Rieti and find out how influential this man was in Roman history.   Susan has prepared a fascinating tour of the area where Vespasian was born, his Thermal bath site and other points of ancient Roman history visible today but only by special permission.  Contact Susan, tour guide for the Province of Rieti: italytur@tin.it.

Weekends Awayare weekends with a theme (such as medieval towns, art restoration etc) and are planned throughout the year. “Weekends Away” can also be the Cooking Weekends that are scheduled on the last weekend of each month. See our “Weekends Away” page.

Cooking School  takes place on a regular basis throughout the year. Cooking courses are given by professional chefs.  See our calendar for dates and themes of these that are already scheduled. You may also request a cooking school program to be created at any time during the year .

School Programs and Excursions can be requested for groups and are especially interesting for schools and families that live in Italy (even if non-Italians) to explore the center part of Italy and the absolutely beautiful area in the mountains up against the Apennines. See our pages about these programs. The information about these will be updated during the course of the year.
